It is simple to print from the user’s desktop in the Secure IT-system as link22 Secure Print appears as a standard Windows printer allowing printing from any print capable application. The printout is encapsulated into a file, encrypted and signed using the user’s smart card before it is forwarded. link22 Secure Print is compatible with link22 Data Guard allowing for policy enforcement of printing. Once passed the Data Guard the print job is available for printout from any Export Station after smart card login. The print job is decrypted only when selected for printing and is directly printed to the physical printer attached to the ExportStation.

Protect your print jobs

Every print job will be signed and encrypted with your smart card directly at your client. The print job will be protected until you arrive to the physical printer where you again use your smart card to decrypt the job. The physical printer is directly attached to the Export Station which means that your print job will not even be exposed to the network that your Export Station is attached to.

Secure Print uses standard APIs to integrate smart card functionality. The design does enable the usage of any type of smart card as long as they support the standard APIs.

Single virtual printer

From within your IT System the user is presented with a single virtual printer called “link22 Secure Print”.

Just select this printer and your print job will be signed and encrypted with your smart card and you can later, at your convenience, select an appropriate printer. If you for instance want to print to an A3 printer, just use a Export Station equipped with a printer that suits your needs.

Export Station

At each physical printer you have a thin or zero client where our easy to use kiosk application runs. Just insert your smartcard, enter your pin and you will be presented with your current print jobs.
